The most cherished of all workshops has finally arrived! Learn introductory screen-printing with Michelle Brownridge! In this workshop, participants will learn the basis of screen-printing, and they will conceive, and print a full edition on paper.
Michelle Brownridge is our general manager, as well as a super experienced screen-printing guru. She has taught all over Saskatchewan! Come learn from her expertise, and have a blast at the same time.
About the instructor: Michelle Brownridge is an artist from Regina, Saskatchewan. She graduated with Honours from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Print Media in 2011 and has exhibited both locally and internationally. Currently, she is the General Manager and a founding member of the Regina-based printmaking collective, Articulate Ink. Brownridge also holds a position on the Board of Directors of the Saskatchewan Printmakers Association. In addition to her work as an artist, she is also an arts administrator, event producer, freelance communications consultant and educator.
Class outline:
- Class one: Introductions, studio orientation, print appreciation, demos of mark making on transparencies, discussion of image ideas, image development, students take transparencies home
- Class two: Image completion, ink mixing, screen coating demo, screen exposure, taping screens
- Class three: demo cleaning inky screens, ½ class prints projects, screen reclamation
- Class four: cleaning inky screens demo, registration methods, ½ class prints projects, screen reclamation
Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm from March 27 to April 5, 2017 (March 27, 29 & April 3, 5). There are 4 classes but 2 separate printing days on either April 3rd or 5th, so you attend 3 classes in total.
Please remember to double check that you will be able to attend all sessions at the times listed as there are no opportunities to make up a missed session free of charge and it is highly encouraged that you attend all sessions in the workshop in order to get the most of your experience.
No experience necessary, ages 14 and up. All materials included in the enrolment fee of $180.00, plus tax.
Cost: $180.00 plus GST & PST ($198.00)
Payments: We prefer online payment at the time of registration, however, if you wish to pay by cheque, Interac e-transfer or in person by debit or with cash this can be accommodated. If you are not able to pay the full cost at the time of registration, we are willing to split the workshop payment into two instalments, the first payment is due one week prior to the the first day of class and the second payment due mid-way through the workshop, our programming coordinator will confirm this date with you.
